The San Diego Professional Tour Guide Association is filled with passionate hospitality workers who love to share their city to guests from across the country and around the world. Whether you need an experienced step-on guide, or a person to greet your guests at the airport, we have qualified individuals to fill these roles.
We created a Code of Ethics, a Mission Statement and a Tour Guide Certification Program that would ensure visitors to San Diego get the most accurate information from experienced guides. Certified tour guides can complement the history of San Diego by offering tours to meet the varying interests of visitors to our city that include, but are not limited to: biking, walking and hiking tours, food, beer and wine tours along with architecture and photography.
In addition to tour guide services, our members must also pass training for hospitality services, which include but are not limited to airport arrivals and departures, dine-a-rounds, conventions and on-site services and group movements.

Certified Tour Guides
Once you have decided upon your San Diego Professional Tour Guide, you can discuss with your guide which sites will be of best interest to your guests.

Multi-Lingual Tour Guides
We currently have members who speak French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Swedish.
Note: We do not test for foreign language proficiency. Each member has self-determined his/her level of ability. We suggest that employers interview guides in the required language before finalizing any contracts.
Hospitality and Registration Staff
Our Accredited Hospitality Professionals (AHP) have been trained and have passed the San Diego Professional Tour Guide Association test. The test and training ensure that certified AHPs are trained and proficient at airport meet and greets, shuttles, dispatching, registration and hospitality desks and dine-arounds.
Our rate for this service is $35.00 per hour with a 4-hour minimum, plus any required parking charges.
