I attended Grossmont College in San Diego and graduated with an Associate of Arts & Sciences degree with honors, later attending Travel Experts Travel Agent Training School. While there, I further focused my studies in Convention Coordination and travel related endeavors. They immediately hired me as a Travel Coordinator for Travel Experts of San Diego. I spent seven months coordinating an incentive travel package to Monte Carlo for 120 people and I also accompanied 90 people to the America’s Cup in Australia as their tour manager.

My career in travel began in 1979 as a San Diego Corporate Tour Guide. I have worked as a Lead for many Destination Management Companies within the San Diego area. Some of my many responsibilities include the supervision and designation of staff assignments for convention arrival and departure for major corporate clients; event logistics, as well as on-site and off-site event coordination in the Southern California area. Additionally, I have worked as a Tour Manager on coach tours throughout the Western United States.

I began my career with Carlson Marketing in 1986.

Some highlights of my Carlson Marketing career include traveling with the Penske Indy Car Racing circuit. I was the lead Trip Director, and with the assistance of two other staff members, we flawlessly oversaw sponsor events such as pit tours, driver autograph signings, lavish meals, and all transportation needs for the attendees. This assignment lasted for two memorable years.

Another adventure and highlight is my eighteen years on the Merrill Lynch team. I feel very fortunate and grateful for the opportunity to travel the world and experience places that one could only dream about. The Merrill Lynch incentive programs require very high expectations of all of their staff and I like to believe that my participation in the execution of these multi-faceted programs resulted in their consistent high caliber of success. Amongst other exciting events, I participated in travel to St. Petersburg, Russia, safaris in South Africa, European cruises, Alaska glacier cruises, biking in Scotland, dinners at castles in Ireland, snorkeling in St. Martin, and much more.

My areas of on-site expertise would be transportation, overseeing the needs of VIP’s, assisting with Food and Beverage, hospitality desks, activities, and meetings.

My destination knowledge is extensive. I have traveled the world.

In my free time I enjoy meeting people and the outdoors. I am an avid hiker and I have a soft spot for all animals, especially dogs.

The things that I enjoy most about my chosen career is the fact that I am exposed to such varied clients, destinations, attendees, and unique situations. No two days are ever truly the same. I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and from all over the world and I am grateful that I have a unique talent for making people feel special.
